The Second Experts Forum of the School of Business Was Held Successfully

On the evening of May 19th, the second Experts Forum of the School of Business was held successfully. Professor Tan Jinsong of the School of Business was invited to be the guest speaker of the forum. He gave a keynote speech entitled "the Preservation and Abolition of Accounting in the Age of Digital and Intelligence and the Survival and Development of Accountants". He pointed out that accountants should think deeply about how to use accounting to help enterprises create and realize value. Accounting is the soul of enterprise operation and management. As long as accounting can create value for enterprises, it will not disappear. At the moment, accountants should pay more attention to the "flexible" aspects of accounting that cannot be replaced by technology, such as the forecasting, decision-making, planning and budgeting services that accounting can provide for enterprises. He also proposed that accountants in the new era should also have new qualities, that is, logical thinking ability, knowledge accumulation and experience, and operation ability, so as to become a new accountant who “integrates EQ & IQ, and be honest with his/her heart”.

The students enthusiastically raised many questions from the aspects of obtaining certifications, basic ethics of accounting and the application of accounting in contemporary enterprises, and benefited a lot from Professor Tan Jinsong's patient answers.

This Expert Forum has made students think more deeply about how to better survive as an accountant in the new era, and everyone said that they have benefited a lot.
