About the Program
The Greater Bay Area X Project is committed to provide students with a world-class platform for innovative business practice, interdisciplinary learning, and cross-cultural exchange. Bringing together top talents from China and abroad, the X Project tackles real-world innovation challenges of leading Greater Bay Area enterprises. Guided by both academic and industry mentors, students will form international teams and complete business projects in artificial intelligence, advanced manufacturing, and new materials.
Program Highlights
- Corporate Innovation Challenges: Collaborate directly with enterprises to tackle real-world business problems through project-based learning.
- Cross-cultural Collaboration: A melting pot of global minds from top-tier universities, reshaping multicultural business perspectives.
- Dual Mentorship: Supported by both academic and industry mentors, integrating theory and practice during action learning.
Program Structure
- Real Corporate Projects: Focusing on real challenges of companies in industries of AI, advanced manufacturing, and new materials. Teams will conduct research, analyze problems, discuss with mentors, and present solutions based on real company projects.
- Workshops: Industry seminars and site visits to outstanding companies in the Greater Bay Area
- Cultural exploration: Gain firsthand experience of Chinese and Cantonese culture
- Participant Scale: 20 students from top-tier overseas universities and 20 students from Sun Yat-sen University
- Duration: 2–3 weeks
- Location: Guangzhou and Shenzhen, Guangdong, China
- Industry/Alumni Partners: Mingyang Smart Energy, Kingfa Sci. & Tech., Comens New Materials, PCITECH, YOUKAI, etc.
Call for participation: We are now calling for participation in the 2026 Greater Bay Area X Project hosted by the School of Business, Sun Yat-sen University in July, 2026 (Detailed schedules of the program will be further announced).
Who can participate?
Full-time undergraduate or postgraduate students from world’s top-tier universities. Students from various disciplines are highly encouraged.Upon arrival at Sun Yat-sen University, students from different universities may form teams of 3-5 students to complete projects.
- How much?
Registration is FREE.
Local expenses including local transportation, accommodations and partial meals will be provided by School of Business during the program. - How to register?
