Associate Professor Wei Lijian Attended the Roundtable Forum of Guangdong Provincial Municipal Government Affairs Data Administration and Delivered a Keynote Speech
On December 11th, the "Guangdong Business Link" Platform Value Empowerment Roundtable hosted by the Guangzhou Municipal Government Affairs Data Administration and organized by Nanfang Metropolis Daily was successfully held. Participants had in-depth discussions on topics of how "digital government" can optimize the business environment in Guangdong, and how to extend the functions and enhance the value of "Guangdong Business Link".
In the roundtable forum, Wei Lijian - Associate Professor of the School of Business, and director of the Big Data Center, Sun Yat-sen University, believes that the most important issues for enterprises are financing and credit. At present, China has not established a complete credit investigation system, and enterprises are facing financing and affairs handling difficulty which lies in the credit system. Regarding the financing difficulty, enterprises need multi-level credit products, and from the perspective of investment, multi-level investment funds are also needed. The government can play an important role in this. For example, the government can set up a fund of funds and make a commitment to cover losses if the investment hits a bottom line. "Guangdong Business Link" currently focuses on the registration data of industrial and commercial enterprises, and financial institutions also have a lot of data, taxation and data of other government departments, which can be integrated and utilized.
Associate Professor Wei Lijian proposed that cross-border credit investigation can be done through the "Guangdong Business Link" platform, and to serve the "Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership" (RCEP) and the "Belt and Road" as a demonstration of cross-border credit service.
