The School of Business Held a Symposium on "Growth of Outstanding Youth Scholars in Business Schools of Research Universities"

On June 5th, the "Symposium on the Growth of Outstanding Youth Scholars in the School of Business, Sun Yat-Sen University" was held online.

 

 

At the meeting, Dean Wang Fan gave a speech on the theme of "Growth of Outstanding Youth Scholars in Business Schools of Research Universities", and had wonderful sharing of the core concerns of the youth scholars, the top priority of research universities, and how youth scholars grow quickly, etc. He first directly addressed the core issues that youth scholars are concerned about, and comprehensively analyzed their confusion and challenges faced in career development from the aspects of promotion of professional titles, paper results, fund application, policy orientation, and teaching evaluation, etc.

He emphasized that we have always been committed to building a truly research-oriented business school under a research-oriented university system, and the business research of our school should pursue interdisciplinary cooperative research that complements and promotes each other with other disciplines of the university.

 

 

Then, Dean Wang explained the discipline system and discipline construction of our school, and proposed a systematic closed-loop business research concept, requiring individuals to actively seek cooperation in research, form complementary advantages, and combine different theories, concepts and research methods to achieve innovation.

 

 

Dean Wang also made an in-depth analysis of the work plans for different stages of the career of business school faculties, and believed that only by unifying the work goal and life goal, can one achieve a good life experience in the process of achieving the stage goals.

 

 

Finally, Dean Wang put forward practical suggestions for youth scholars on how to make full use of their talents relying on the institution and platform of the school.
