Good News | Distinguished Professor Lu Yadong and Professor Wang Fan of Our School Were Selected to Elsevier's List of 2018 Chinese Most Cited Researchers

On January 17th, the academic publishing giant Elsevier officially released the list of 2018 Chinese Most Cited Researchers. A total of 1,899 scholars from 229 universities / research institutes / enterprises were selected this time, including 49 scholars from our university - 4 more than in 2017, ranking the sixth among the scholars' units as university in China. Among them, distinguished professor Lu Yadong of our school has been selected to the list for five consecutive years, and Professor Wang Fan has been selected to the list as a new Most Cited Researcher.

The list of 2018 Chinese Most Cited Researchers adopts methods and standards developed by Shanghai Ranking Consultancy to systematically analyze the worldwide influence of Chinese researchers based on objective citation data. The Elsevier's Scopus database provides data support and technical implementation for the list study.  As the world's largest database of literature abstracts and citation, Scopus has included more than 20,000 peer-reviewed journals, over 500 of which are in Chinese. Among the literatures included in the Scopus database, there are more than 3 million copies with author addresses of China (Mainland) institutions and more than 4 million author names of China (Mainland).

The screening criteria of the Most Cited Researchers are objective an unified, that gives the list of Chinese Most Cited Researchers from the perspective of pure academic influence. Therefore, it’s adopted as an important reference for top talents of single index in the Best Chinese University Ranking by Shanghai Ranking.

The inclusion of distinguished professor Lu Yadong and Professor Wang Fan of our school in the Elsevier list of "Most Cited Researchers" is a full recognition of the research level of our school.
