The "14th Five-Year" Development Strategy Expert Consultation Meeting of The National Natural Science Foundation of China Was Successfully Held at The Business School, Sun Yat-sen University

From July 8th to 9th, the "14th Five-Year" Development Strategy Expert Consultation Meeting of the National Natural Science Foundation of China was held at the Business School, Sun Yat-sen University. The meeting was hosted by the National Natural Science Foundation of China, and undertaken by Sun Yat-sen University and Tianjin University. More than 30 famous experts and scholars in the field of management science in China were specially invited, including distinguishes professors of Chang Jiang Scholars and winners of the Distinguished Young Scholars Fund, as well as the leaders of the Department of Management Science and the Bureau of Policy, National Natural Science Foundation of China. From the perspective of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the strategic layout of management science research was analyzed in depth with full of wisdom. The meeting was presided over by Professor Zhang Wei from Tianjin University.

Then, researcher Yang Liexun - deputy director of the Department of Management Science, National Natural Science Foundation of China, introduced their department's understanding of the 14th Five-Year strategy and medium-term and long-term plans. The meeting also invited famous management science professors Chen Chunhua and Wang Shouyang to give keynote speeches.

During the two-day meeting, the participating experts analyzed and estimated the development trend of the future management science discipline, and the challenges and opportunities faced, discussed the major scientific missions, major scientific challenges, and especially the major strategic direction of future research of the management science discipline in China in the new era. The meeting brought together the wisdom and thinking of domestic famous management scientists on the top-level design and basic research framework construction of the management science research, which would provide strategic and direction guidance for the planning and deployment of future management discipline.
