Our University Holds 2019 SYSBS-IVEY National Business Case Competition
Recently, the 2019 SYSBS-IVEY National Business Case Competition was held in our university. The competition was co-hosted by the Business School of our university and the Richard Ivey School of Business, University of Western Ontario, and organized by the Chen Ruiqiu Asia-Pacific Case Development and Research Center of Business School and the Asian Case Centre of Richard Ivey School of Business, University of Western Ontario. Teams from universities such as Tsinghua University, Fudan University, Nankai University, Nanjing University, South China University of Technology, etc. participated in the competition.
Li Shanmin - vice president of our university, attended the event and delivered an opening speech. He expressed his congratulations on the competition and hoped that the contestants would compete with their best skills and style.
The competition included English demonstration, on-site defense and final defense. The participating teams had an 8-minute English demonstration and a 12-minute English defense on the stage. Each representative team elaborated their cases, viewpoints and strategies in simple terms and from a variety of perspectives. During the defense session, the judges asked the participating teams questions from aspects such as scheme details, feasibility analysis and financial analysis, etc. The contestants quickly organized the language and answered the questions on-site in a short time, demonstrating their solid professional knowledge and flexibility. After the competition, the teams from Sun Yat-sen University, Chinese University of Hong Kong (Shenzhen), Nanjing University and Nankai University advanced to the final four. In the final round, the top four teams won the unanimous praise from the judges with their innovative scheme design, rigorous analysis method and excellent on-site performance.
In the end, our university team won the championship and also the Best Popularity Award with outstanding performance.
