Professor Li Shanmin of Our School was Invited to Attend the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area International Trade Cooperation Forum and Participate in the Summit Dialogue
On the afternoon of October 15th, the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area International Trade Cooperation Forum, one of the sub-forums of the 130th Canton Fair Pearl River International Trade Forum, was held in Guangzhou. The sub-forum was co-hosted by the Ministry of Commerce and the People's Government of Guangdong Province, and organized by China Foreign Trade Center, Department of Commerce of Guangdong Province and the People’s Government of Guangzhou Municipality.
Professor Li Shanmin from the School of Business, Vice President of Sun Yat-sen University, was invited to attend the forum and had in-depth discussion with participating government officials, experts, scholars, and enterprise representatives on the theme of "Building the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area together to promote high-quality trade development".
What should Guangdong do in the process of promoting the high-quality trade development in the Greater Bay Area? Professor Li Shanmin said that the system innovation must be done well. In addition, he also emphasized that the linkage benefits of the free trade zones should be strengthened, and the respective advantages should be used to differentiate and cooperate in industries.
As for how the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area can better open up to the outside world, Professor Li Shanmin believes that trade should be transformed to service trade. He believes that the production service industry is the key of the service.
