"State-owned Enterprises: Mergers and Acquisitions and Technological Innovation Workshop" was Successfully Held in Sun Yat-sen University

On November 14th, the "State-owned Enterprises (SOE): Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A) and Technological Innovation Workshop" was successfully held at Shansi Hall, the School of Business, Sun Yat-sen University. This workshop was co-hosted by our school and the Advanced Institute of Finance, Sun Yat-sen University, with on-line and offline combined.

Vice President Li Shanmin delivered an opening speech and put forward some constructive thoughts on the theoretical research on the optimal allocation of state-owned capital and M&A, leading to the theme of this workshop.

 

Afterwards, led by Professor Li Guangzhong, Chairman Song Zhiping, Professor Wu Shinong and Professor Tian Xuan delivered wonderful keynote speeches around the main topics of the workshop, which were warmly received by the participants.

 

Professor Huang Qunhui and Editor-in-Chief Shang Zengjian delivered speeches in the form of online conference on the strategic restructuring of the state-owned economy and how to further conduct academic research in the new era.

 

Then, led by Professor Wang Caiping, the guests had an in-depth discussion on the main topic. Professor Li Zheng, Professor Li Qingyuan, Professor Xu Nianxing, Professor Sun Qian, Professor Wu Chaopeng, and Chairman Liang Jun shared constructive views respectively on SOE’s M&A, SOE reform, and technological innovation, etc.

The atmosphere of the workshop was warm, and the insightful opinions and wonderful speeches from domestic academics and industry guests aroused active thinking and discussions among faculties and students. The workshop has important academic value and practical significance for the development and research of SOE's M&A and technological innovation in the new era.
