Walk Together Along The Way of Public Welfare with Deep Affection - The Public Welfare Activity in Nyingchi, Tibet Was Successfully Organized by The Public Welfare Association of EMBA Alumni Council of Business School, Sun Yat-sen University
In October 2018, the Public Welfare Association of EMBA Alumni Council of our school successfully organized the Zayu public welfare activities. At the beginning of this year, Ding Min - president and Huang Weiqiang - honorary president of the Public Welfare Association of EMBA Alumni Council of our school, actively contacted the Guangdong Provincial Aid Tibet Working Group, the Alumni Association of Sun Yat-sen University and the Graduate Education Support Group, to learn about the actual needs of local hospitals and schools, and actively organized the EMBA alumni of our school who are passionate about public welfare activities to make caring donation. From April 10th to 11th, the Public Welfare Association of EMBA Alumni Council attended the donation ceremony in Nyingchi, Tibet, donated 616,000 yuan of medical equipments to Nyingchi City People's Hospital, set up and donated 50,000 yuan of "Plateau Encouragement Scholarship" in Nyingchi No.1 Middle School, and donated 80,000 yuan of books to the Bayi District Middle School. The public welfare activity in Nyingchi, Tibet was successfully organized by the Public Welfare Association of EMBA Alumni Council.
On the afternoon of April 10th, led by Huang Yuansui - deputy director of the Education Development and Alumni Affairs Office of Sun Yat-sen University, Zhang Yifang - director of the General Affairs Department of Education Development and Alumni Affairs Office, Zhou Junxia - director assistant of EMBA Education Center of Business School, Ding Min - president and Huang Weiqiang - honorary president of the Public Welfare Association of EMBA Alumni Council, Zhou Peng, Zhang Yuedong, Xu Guoqing and other alumni representatives of EMBA Alumni Council came to Nyingchi City People's Hospital, attended the medical equipments donation ceremony, visited the experts and professors from the Aid Tibet Working Group of the Affiliated Hospital, Sun Yat-sen University, and had a discussion with the staffs from Nyingchi City People's Hospital. EMBA alumni of Business School jointly donated 288,000 yuan of surgical medical equipments, and Zhou Peng - alumni of the Whampoa 41st EMBA donated 328,000 yuan of pediatric medical equipments.
On the morning of April 11th, a group of the Public Welfare Association of EMBA Alumni Council visited Nyingchi No.1 Middle School and Bayi District Middle School, attended the donation ceremony of Nyingchi No.1 Middle School and Bayi District Middle School, had a work exchange forum on aiding Tibet, and visited the alumni from the Graduate Education Support Group of Sun Yat-sen University.
Alumni donated 50,000 yuan of "Plateau Encouragement Scholarship" to Nyingchi No. 1 Middle School, aiming to encourage more Tibetan students to study hard by rewarding the students who have achieved excellent academic performance and setting role models. In addition, alumni donated 3,000 copies of extracurricular reading books worth 80,000 yuan to Nyingchi City Bayi District Middle School, which greatly enriched the students' reading resources.
"The trickle of kindness gathers being the sea, and of star of love gathers shining the sky." It has become a tradition for the EMBA alumni of our school to engage in public welfare activities, the spiritual coordinate of each class, and the best interpretation of "practice social responsibilities" for the Business School people. Helping the poor and needy, and focusing the strength, all these count on the way of comprehensive well-off society!
