RESEARCH PURPOSE

Technologies such as big data, cloud computing, AI, and blockchain are accelerating innovation and are increasingly integrated into the entire process of economic and social development. The digital economy is developing with wide spread influences and rapid pace. It is becoming a key factor in the reorganization of global resources, the reshaping global economic structure and changing the global competitive landscape. We must coordinate the overall strategic situation of the great rejuvenation of China with the world's major changes unseen in centuries, both domesticly and internationally, alongside major issues of development and security, and make full use of massive data and its rich application scenarios, and promote the integration of digital technology and the real economy. This will empower the transformation of traditional industries, spawn new industrie, and continue to make China's digital economy stronger and better.

Mission of The Laboratory:
In response to major strategic needs proposed above by the CCP, such as developing digital economy and using data as a factor of production, we deeply integrate cutting-edge theoretical methods and technologies such as big data and AI with management science, striving to solve major issues such as the high-quality development of enterprises and reducing economic security risks.
LABORATORY OVERVIEW
The MOE Philosophy and Social Sciences Laboratory (cultivation) of Big Data Driven Management Behaviors and Decision making was approved by the Ministry of Education at the end of 2021. The laboratory explores new research, talent training and social service models in the field of management. The research team is led by Professor Fan WANG, deputy secretary of the CCP committee of Sun Yat-sen University, and includes more than 50 people from interdisciplinary teams such as management, computer science, economics, and mathematics.

The fourth floor of the new building of Sun Yat-sen University School of Management is 3,000 square meters;
· The supercomputing center has a dedicated computer room of 400 square meters and an office space of 200 square meters.

Build a super intelligent computing platform and a supercomputing big data platform; Four major equipment sets have been established, a data cockpit, a smart decision -making theater, an intelligent supply chain management platform and an AI interactive robot have been established, including high-performance intelligent computing servers, graphics workstations, large-scale display devices, human-AI interactive devices, etc.




INDUSTRY-EDUCATION-RESEARCH(IER)COOPERATION
1+N Establish a joint IER platform in N fields based on the MOE Lab (1 R&D engine)

We facilitated the construction of "1 Lab,1 platform,1 park" for digital finance in Guangdong. That is, relying on the SYSU Bay Valley Risk Management Technology Laboratory (a joint research platform), we built a local financial digital infrastructure platform and the Guangdong digital financial innovation industrial park.

Relying on alumni enterprises, we have integrated the resources of the national supercomputing Guangzhou center and the NVIDIA AI Innovation and Empowerment Center to build the Shansi Super Intelligent Computing Platform, It aims to provide strategic planning, business models, model research, model training, and application promotion for large language models.
