Brief Introduction to the seminar:
This lecture will provide an introduction to Procter & Gamble’s (P&G) global business and the company’s business development and growth in China over it’s 25 years of business here, during which time it has grown significantly to become P&G’s second largest business in the world, with twenty two brands, most of them the leading brands in China in their consumer products category. The lecture will present four case studies demonstrating approaches to localizing foreign companies and brands in China – P&G (consumer products), IKEA (home furnishings), Kuehne & Nagel (business logistics), General Motors (cars).
In addition to Chris Hassall, Ph.D., Honorary Professor of Marketing at SYSBS and recently retired P&G Global External Relations Officer, the lecture will be delivered by a Communications and Brand Building expert at P&G, Jade Lu, P&G China Communications Manager, and a former graduate of Sun Yat-sen University.
Speaker Brief Bio:
As P&G’s Global External Relations Officer, Chris led a global organization of 1200 people responsible for P&G’s worldwide corporate communications, brand publicity, consumer relations, employee communications, regulatory and technical relations, government and community relations, philanthropy, corporate reputation and crisis management.
As part of P&G global executive leadership team ,Chris Hassall worked closely with P&G’s CEO, Vice Chairs, Function Heads and Business Unit Presidents to build and protect P&G ‘s reputation and business around the world.
