2018 Alumni Annual Working Conference of Business School, Sun Yat-sen University Was Successfully Held
On December 23, the 2018 Alumni Annual Working Conference of Business School, Sun Yat-sen University was successfully held in Shenzhen. Huang Ruimin - director of the Education Development and Alumni Affairs Office of Sun Yat-sen University, Wang Fan - dean, Qi Xiaoping - secretary of the Party Committee, Liu Jingyan - associate dean, professor Xie Kang, Ke Jianjie - secretary-general of the Alumni Council, Liang Wenwen - executive vice secretary-general of the Alumni Council, and nearly 130 of alumni including representatives of alumni associations of Business School, Sun Yat-sen University attended the conference.
This annual conference was presided over by secretary Qi Xiaoping. Dean Wang Fan delivered a report on the development of the Business School. Ke Jianjie - secretary-general of the Alumni Council, Zeng Yichang - representative of the EMBA Alumni Council, Li Xionghou - representative of Shanghai Alumni Association, Li Shuaiwei - representative of Zhong Da Qing Education Foundation of Business School, Sun Yat-sen University made a work report successively. And then, professor Xie Kang gave a keynote speech titled "Insight into the Complexity of the Business World with Big Data Management".
Dean Wang Fan introduced the development in recent years and the future development opportunities of the school mainly from the domestic and international rankings, scientific research projects, teaching achievements and other aspects. Dean Wang said that in the future, the Business School should fully integrate into the construction of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area, promote the interdisciplinary crossing and technological integration, and further expand its influence. Finally, on behalf of the school, dean Wang expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the alumni for their support over the past year. He pointed out that the support of alumni plays an important role in the progress of the school. He hoped that in the future more alumni could be gathered to enhance the brand image of the Business School, and alumni would continue to follow and participate in the development of the school.
Ke Jianjie - secretary-general of the Alumni Council of our school made a detailed review of the work of the Business School in alumni, foundation, and industry-university-research in 2018. At the same time, he made plans and prospects for the alumni work in 2019, hoping to further enhance the cohesion of alumni, help the development of alumni with scientific research achievements, and promote the development of the school with the help of alumni.
Li Chan - representative of MBA Association, Zeng Yichang - representative of the EMBA Alumni Council, Li Xionghou - representative of Shanghai Alumni Association, and Li Shuaiwei - representative of Zhong Da Qing Education Foundation, respectively introduced the development of each association, summarized and reviewed the work in 2018. They said that they would continue to gather the strength of alumni, make the alumni associations better and better to create greater glories.
Later, the annual conference held a donation ceremony for the "Zhong Da Qing" financial aid and scholarship of Shan Si Education Foundation. "Zhong Da Qing" Education Foundation donated RMB 2 million to the Education Development Foundation of Sun Yat-sen University to support the Shan Si Education Foundation projects of Business School, Sun Yat-sen University.
At the subsequent alumni forum, professor Xie Kang of our school gave a wonderful keynote speech titled "Insight into the Complexity of the Business World with Big Data Management". Professor Xie Kang gave a vivid and interesting introduction to three aspects, including the insight into the business relations with big date, the changing of business behavior rules by big data, the complexity of big data, artificial intelligence and economy, and analyzed the impact of artificial intelligence and big data on future economic management development and human life.
The successful holding of the Alumni Annual Working Conference of Business School, Sun Yat-sen University not only strengthened the exchange and communication among alumni, but also enhanced the cohesion and solidarity of alumni. In the future, the Business School will carry out more alumni activities to build a platform for the exchange and communication among alumni.
